Asklepios, a large private hospital operator in Germany, needed to modernize radiology workflows across its acute care network — particularly to support physicians during night and weekend shifts when cognitive burden is highest. Smaller and regional locations like island hospitals lacked consistent 24/7 radiology decision support, creating gaps in patient safety and time-critical diagnosis.
Asklepios deployed Aidoc's aiOS™ platform across all 28 acute care hospital locations as part of a broader Health Data Hub digital strategy funded by the Hospital Future Act (KHZG). The cloud-based, GDPR-compliant system integrates with existing radiological infrastructure and automatically analyzes CT and X-ray images in real time, flagging acute pathologies such as brain hemorrhages, pulmonary embolisms, and fractures for immediate physician review.
The rollout was completed on schedule by end of 2025, making Asklepios the first private hospital operator in Germany to implement a centralized AI radiology platform at this scale. The system now analyzes approximately 35,000 CT and X-ray images monthly across all locations. Physicians report reduced cognitive burden, clearer prioritization of findings, and more systematic decision-making — with particular impact felt at smaller and island-based sites providing 24/7 basic care.
