UnityPoint Health adopted the Health Catalyst Data Operating System (DOS™) platform and established an enterprise analytics team focused on high-impact areas. The team deployed augmented intelligence (AI) capabilities including predictive modeling, natural language generation, and automated statistical process control, applied across blood management, length of stay, readmissions, and care management programs.

Over eight years, UnityPoint Health achieved more than $100M in financial improvements with a greater than 15:1 analytics benefit-cost ratio. Specific outcomes include $41M in avoided expenses from reduced excess LOS days, $31M in average annual ACO shared savings, $32M in reduced healthcare spend in a single year, and $17.4M in direct cost reductions from blood management improvements.
