Residents with dementia and cognitive impairment in assisted living communities frequently fall but cannot recall or report fall details to staff, leading to precautionary ER visits. Staff had no efficient way to review the cause or severity of falls to determine whether emergency care was actually needed.

SafelyYou deployed an AI-based video monitoring system in resident rooms that automatically detected falls and flagged relevant footage for staff review. Staff could then assess the severity of the event and determine whether an ER visit was warranted, avoiding unnecessary hospitalizations.

The initial deployment produced an 80% reduction in ER visits for the community's residents. Staff were able to review AI-flagged video to determine most falls did not require emergency care, significantly reducing unnecessary transport and hospitalization.
